Zombie Haiku

Velvet at vvb32 reads is having a zombie haiku challenge, and since I love haiku, I got a little carried away. I wrote four, then decided to rearrange them so they formed a longer poem, sort of. Thought I'd share it with you. If you want to return the favor and amuse me with your own, I'd be happy to read 'em. Happy Zombie Week, all!

I have tried in vain;
This craving I can't refuse.
Now I want your brains

Halting and jerking,
I take my place by your side.
Your smooth flesh beckons.

The contrast excites
I moan as your red, red life
drips on my gray flesh.

Your scent fills the air
Bittersweet like rust and salt;
Rings my dinner bell.
