Guest post from Denise Burroughs, author of Let's Eat!

My family has always inspired me not only in cooking, but in life.  As a child of a large Italian family with a strong family heritage, we had many traditions and values.   One of those many traditions that I carried on to my family was eating dinner together.  It’s a time free from the electronics like laptops, cell phones and television that consume our lives. It’s a time to share and spend quality time with your family.

I know we all have busy lives, but it’s important to me for my family to have this time together to stay connected.  Yes, just cooking a meal for your family can sometimes be a chore.  That’s one reason why I included meals that were easy to make for the typical busy women (or man) in my cookbook.  This allows us to spend more time with our families, which is one of the most important things.

  1. I LOVE connecting over food. It's such a beautiful way to stop, breath, and get back to the basics. Great post!
