Sometimes, the best books are already on our shelves, waiting to be read. TBR Tuesday is a chance to spotlight books that you own that have been languishing on the endless to-be-read pile. It's a chance to showcase a book and bring it to the attention of those who haven't read it, and at the same time, finding out from those who have whether it's worth the read.
I had someone ask if people can snag the button and participate, to which I gave a resounding YES! So feel free to post your own TBR and link back so everyone can see what's hiding in your TBR mountain!
Jinx
Meg Cabot
It's not easy being Jinx.
Jean Honeychurch hates her boring name (not Jean Marie, or Jeanette, just . . . Jean). What's worse? Her all-too-appropriate nickname, Jinx. Misfortune seems to follow her everywhere she goes even to New York City, where Jinx has moved to get away from the huge mess she caused in her small hometown. Her aunt and uncle welcome her to their Manhattan town house, but her beautiful cousin Tory isn't so thrilled. . . .
In fact, Tory is hiding a dangerous secret one that could put them all in danger. Soon Jinx realizes it isn't just bad luck she's been running from . . . and that the curse she has lived under since the day she was born may be the only thing that can save her life.
I keep picking this up and almost reading it. It's like, my fingers keep telling me I'm in the mood for it (it sounds so fun!), but something always seems to happen to keep me from reading it. Maybe I'm jinxed... O_O
But I have a friend who loves Meg Cabot, and especially recommends this one, so I really do need to read it. It's just that I may have to lock myself in a room alone with this book in order to do so...
What do you guys think? Anyone read this and recommend it?

I love this! Totally doing it next week... Or if I can you know abandon some of the wifely/mothering crap I have to do tomorrow maybe I'll throw something together! :)

ReplyDeleteMy TBR Tuesday post is about a book that I gave up on a few years ago but wish to give another chance now. Not a very cheery first contribution to your meme, Misty, but I think it deserves a bit of "TBR love." =)
Haven't read this one, but I love Meg Cabot. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pick!
ReplyDeleteHere is what I'm reading today :)
I liked Jinx, but didn't *love* it. Most Meg Cabot books are like that for me, though-- I know a lot of people who really enjoyed it. Anyway, hope you get around to giving it a read. :)
ReplyDeleteJinx is good, but definitely not the best book that Meg Cabot has written. ^_^
