CLOSED Zoë Marriott Prize Pack Giveaway

Earlier today, we had a lovely guest post from author Zoë Marriott, in which we hinted at a delicious little prize pack for you that has Ashley and I drooling...
Check it out:
The Swan Kingdom

When Alexandra’s mother is slain by an unnatural beast, shadows fall on the once-lush kingdom. Too soon the widowed king is entranced by a cunning stranger — and in one chilling moment Alexandra’s beloved brothers disappear, and she is banished to a barren land. Rich in visual detail, sparked by a formidable evil, and sweetened with familial and romantic love, here is the tale of a girl who discovers powerful healing gifts — and the courage to use them to save her ailing kingdom.

Shadows on the Moon
Suzume is a shadow-weaver. She can create mantles of darkness and light, walk unseen in the middle of the day, change her face. She can be anyone she wants to be. Except herself.
Suzume died officially the day the Prince's men accused her father of treason. Now even she is no longer sure of her true identity.
Is she the girl of noble birth living under the tyranny of her mother’s new husband, Lord Terayama? A lowly drudge scraping a living in the ashes of Terayama’s kitchens? Or Yue, the most beautiful courtesan in the Moonlit Lands?
Everyone knows Yue is destined to capture the heart of a prince. Only she knows that she is determined to use his power to destroy Terayama.
And nothing will stop her. Not even love.

  5. I have to go with Aladdin. Even though I've never read the original tale, I absolutely adored the Disney version as a kid. I even had the "Barbie" of Aladdin and DID make up stories with him in it. I think it would be nice to see a young adult version that is a bit darker than Disney's told with lots of romance and mystery. That would be awesome!

  11. Great contest! The books you're giving away look absolutely gorgeous :D *so excited*

I think I'd retell The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.. I LOVED it when I was a kid and I think it's just such a wonderful, magical story! I would make it more suitable for adults, add a little bit of spicy romance and breath-taking action.
I Love SNOW and WINTER and the Snow Queen is one of the coolest bad characters ever :)

  24. hmmm....I would definitely retell The Little Mermaid. The original by H.C.Andersen has a sad ending and I like happy endings. But Disney already went ahead and gave it a happy ending and children friendly.

  30. Little Red Riding Hood. I'd have the wolf as a misunderstood pooka (shape shifting faerie). He'd be a scapegoat instead of the villain and I think it would be the woodsman who commited all the heinous acts because Red loved the pooka and he was jealous. OoOoOoOh!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd retell Handsel and Getel because I haven't seen a lot of reinterpretations of the story and I think it would be cool to add a more modern touch to it.

  40. The Riddle. Not many know this fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm. I think it's interesting in so many ways. I would love to expand on it. All the characters are intriguing, and so I'd want to know more about them and their life stories and why they are the way that they are.

  49. A fairy story that doesn't seem to be much know by the younger generation is The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley.

I know there have been movies made and comic books but maybe it is time for a new re-telling.

  52. I'd retell Sleeping Beauty. I hate how victimized she is to be quite honest. Would give the girl a chance to save herself. Not that I'm saying I wouldn't let dear old princy help though. ;) Or I'd redo Snow White and for the same reason. Plus I'd give them a little more personality. Just sayin'.

  56. I'd have to say Robin Hood I just think it would be awesome it Maid Marian had... a secret night life.

Where she's innocent rule abiding by day, but during the night she does what she can to help Robin Hood help his people.

BUT she's never met Robin Hood she's just a ... anonymous help I guess? (I dont know how to word that it's ... 3am right now :p)

Sometime throughout the movie I want her and Robin Hood to meet, and slowly fall in love.. but yeah I think you got the jist of my idea :p

  58. Do Greek myths count? I would rewrite (and am currently doing so) the story of Cupid and Psyche because the heroine has to survive the terrible mother-in-law and decide to trust her husband and get over her dangerous curiosity.
