Book Chat: Cover Trends

It's Book Chat time again!  This week's topic is COVER TRENDS.

I think this one is deserving of multiple video chats, too, so there will be further discussions of trends and covers in general in the future.  But for now, here's an overview of some of the dominant trends of the books on my shelves.

Feel free to join in on the coversation with your own vlog or blog post, and link it up below so everyone can see your thoughts.

[Next week's topic will be: SIDEKICKS!]

  1. That is a boatload of books! I basically stuck with 2 trends...I could easily have gone with at least half a dozen but then I'd have had a super long video, and I figured since this was my first time participating, I'd aim for short and sweet lol. Great topic!

  2. You're so right! Faces and dresses are all the rage!

I like cartoony artisty ones too :)

    I'm a huge silhouette fan.

  3. I'm doing a whole series of cover trends, both ones I like and ones I dislike. Thanks for the good idea!

  4. There really are a lot of faces and girl in dresses on my shelves!! I am not a fan of cut of heads and faces though. It just makes me think, where is your other eye? Are you a pirate? Why can't we see your head? Is it that bad? LOL! So, yeah...

  5. Hahaha @ Shannon!! Yeah, people on youtube commented to that end, too. As did Amanda above, I believe, in the post that she did.

I like cropped heads. It's quirky and weird and visually interesting, but it has to be done JUST RIGHT.
