This was errrverywhere for awhile, and I bought it on the insane hype. Haven't read it yet, for a number of reasons - 1) time, 2) what if it doesn't live up to the hype, and 3) it's thick y'all! But I do want to read it soon, just because it did make everyone foam at the mouth, and all.

ReplyDeleteAHHH, MISTY!! How have you not read this yet?? Seriously! This was my best book of 2011! Okay, remember several months ago when I confessed that I'd never read Hunger Games, and you threatened to tie me to a chair until I finished? Consider that threat reciprocated.

ReplyDeleteYes, read it!! It does live up to the hype. The world building is spot on, the female protagonist isn't a whiner, and the story itself is good! Besides, the next one "Insurgent" comes out in May!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great feature! I don't own this, but yeah, I heard so much good stuff about it. I'm not sure I'll be able to get to it though.
ReplyDeleteDivergent does seem like a thick book but it's so easy to read that you'll fly through it. Plus, it's riveting so you won't WANT to put it down in the first place!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, yet it does live up to the hype. I would make it a priority to read it in 2012.
