Coming Attraction: Two and Twenty Dark Tales

Today's Coming Attraction is a short story anthology based on Mother Goose; there are a number of authors contributing whose works I've been wanting to try, so I think this is definitely going on the to-get list...

Two and Twenty Dark Tales: Dark Retellings of Mother Goose Rhymes Edited by Georgia McBride & Michelle Zink
Expected publication: October 16th 2012 by Month9Books
Nursery rhymes sung sweetly can take us back to childhood. But deep inside many of those childhood favorites is… a hint of something dark. TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES: Dark Retellings of Mother Goose Rhymes imagines dark and sinister things amuck in Mother Goose-land.
From familiar rhymes, to some of the more obscure, TWO AND TWENTY DARK TALES is a must read for anyone who enjoyed Mother Goose rhymes as a child, but has come to love the darkest of tales.

Includes tales from:
Nina Berry
Sarwat Chadda
Shannon Delany
Max Scialdone
Leigh Fallon

  2. I've just started seeing this cover around, but hadn't had a chance to investigate any further. I can't imagine what the stories are like, but I'm going to get a copy! Dark Mother Goose. Love it! Hope they do Humpty Dumpty since it doesn't make much sense anyway.

  3. We authors are excited, too. Personally, writing the story "Pieces of Eight" (based on "Sleep, Baby, Sleep") with singer/songwriter Max Scialdone was an amazing experience and taught this author quite a bit. :)
