This is another one from the Once Upon a Time series, this time with Cameron Dokey doing the retelling. I know Cameron Dokey is pretty big in the fairy tale retelling field, but I have to say, I've never read anything by her. I might have to change that, and starting with this book...Why?

I've read it and loved it. I love all those retellings (except Spirited...I didn't like that one). I like the new cover the best as well.
ReplyDeleteI do so enjoy these Once Upon a Time books. They are just so much fun & they usually have a fun/weird spin on the tale (like a bald Rapunzel).

And me, I go back and forth on the covers of the whole series. I really love both sets and can never decide which I prefer. Although with Mulan, I do prefer the newer cover too :)

the pink cover is much better; you can also see the girl's whole face instead of only her chin.

ReplyDeleteI am going to have to go with the old cover though. I absolutely LOVE it. It's just so beautifully done and fits in perfectly with the fairytale mood. You can't beat an illustrated cover in my opinion. Plus the people they put on book covers annoy me.
I love the Once Upon a Time series! I preferred the older covers, though. They seemed less girly and more creative - I think, in general, I just hate bright colors and photographs on covers.
