Trailer: The Great Gatsby

GATSBYYYYY!!!

Ahem. Now that that's out of my system - anyone else a Gatsby fan? I've been waiting for this one for awhile, and now that the trailer is out, I'm really intrigued. Adaptations in the past seem to have gone the route of lazy linen decadence. But this one - well, you can definitely tell it's from the same peeps as Moulin Rouge. It looks like a very BIG, very gltizy, glamorous and explosive take on the tale. Can't wait to see it!
(Plus, I am in love with the idea of Carey Mulligan as Daisy. Perfect.)

So, who else is definitely seeing this one? Are you heading straight for the theaters or redboxing it?
And what do you think of the trailer?
Let me know in the comments!

In anticipation I've bought the audio. I plan to listen to it before seeing the movie.

    Plus I love BL!

  2. I'd heard of this book before but never read it—I didn't realize "Gatsby" was a person until I saw the trailer o.o xD

It looks totally awesome though!! Carey Mulligan played Sally Sparrow in Doctor Who and it's so cool to see her breaking out into such a huge movie role. Can't wait!!

    And yay for Sally Sparrow!

I don't like the music used in the trailer though...

  4. YES! These peeps did Romeo & Juliet back in 1996(?) and I loved that one! and the remake of the U2 song in the trailer totally hooked me in!
I cannot help it, but my inner teen girl is screaming for some Leo (yup, just showed my age on that one, lol!)
I've lost my old copy of Gatsby, will have to hunt for a new one later this week :)

  5. Ever since I heard Leo was going to be in it I flipped out excited!! I can't even wait to see it. I read a summary on the book for school (I had to read the summary - promise I wasn't cheating!) and that got me into reading the book. I'm sooooo excited!! :DDD

  7. I am EPICLY excited. I hate to admit that I haven'y read The Great Gatsby, but you better believe that it will be in my June TBR. I loved the trailer and we'll find out I guess if I think it's worth the book.
