In my most recent book haul, I was talking about the absurd length of Libba Bray's books, and I popped over to Goodreads to see just how long The Diviners is, where I stumbled upon the UK cover. Now, these aren't as extreme as some books we have on Friday Face Off; they certainly share some elements, but I think they give off different vibes overall. One looks a little more historical and Art Deco, and the other a little brighter, a little bolder, and a bit more modern.
So if you had your pick, which of these would you prefer to have on your shelves? Which would you reach for, and which intrigues you more?
Which one did it better?
Last Week on FFO: In a rare clean sweep, everybody voted for the original cover style for Jackson Pearce's Fairytale Retellings series. You hear that, Little, Brown?

I prefer the US cover. And if the Aus cover was in the running, my vote would totally go to that! :D
ReplyDeleteUS Cover!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the one with the silhouette. It hints to a mystery and has a 20s feel to me.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the US cover in this case, but I don't hate the UK cover -- it's close for me!
ReplyDeleteThe UK cover. I love the boldness and the silhouette.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I weighed in, but I like the UK cover. It has a more "adult" feel though. So maybe that means the US is more successful.
ReplyDeleteI like both, but I like US cover more, as it's more original.
ReplyDeleteI think I gotta go UK on this one, which means we have a tie!
