I think I'd want to meet Emma. She'd definitely be fun.
ReplyDeleteI'd want to meet Mr. Darcy, for obvious reasons, but I'd probably get tongue-tied and just stare. :)
ReplyDeleteLizzie Bennet, I love her wit and occasional sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteHmmm that's a tough one, there are so many intriguing choices! I just reread Northanger Abbey, though, so I'm going to go with Eleanor Tilney, because at the end of the novel you get so many enticing hints about this long term romance that suddenly comes to fruition, but there's no details at all! It's got to be a story worth hearing, though, given that she's more the form of the heroine that Austen jokes about through the entire novel, and whom Catherine is disqualified for, given that her parents are alive and sensible folks. Hmmm I just noticed that too. I'm glad you asked this question, cause we're talking about it at book club on Tuesday and now I have a great point to make! :D
ReplyDeleteHaha! Glad I could help. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm honestly not the biggest Jane Austen fan, but I love the Regency/Victorian eras, and also tongue-in-cheek non-fiction books like this. This seems like it would be right up my alley, and I would be overjoyed to win and would most definitely read and review it! =D
ReplyDeleteOh, and if I could meet any Austen character it would have to be Marianne Dashwood from Sense & Sensibility. I'm probably the only person who will say that, but I loved her romantic and innocent outlook on life. She seems like such a sweet and enjoyable person to be around, and she also reminds me a little of myself when I was a teenager.
ReplyDeleteOther than the obvious, Mr. Darcy...I think I would like to meet Elizabeth Bennet. I wish I could be more like her. I'm more of an Elinor Dashwood. I think Elinor and I would be good friends, but I would hope Lizzy's wit and intelligence would rub off on me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd want to meet Darcy (who wouldn't!?) and of course, Lizzy. Apart from that, maybe Lady C, just so I can kick her!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to meet poor Mr Bennett, so many daughters and Mrs Bennett to contend with, I'd love to know his secret!
ReplyDeleteLady Catherine de Bourge at a party. I want to see her push her opinions on everybody.
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet Elinor Dashwood. Elizabeth is my favorite but I feel like I know her and not so much with Elinor.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, my boyfriend would love this, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would like to meet Anne Elliot. I've always admired her.
ReplyDeleteI think Elizabeth Bennet would be an interesting person to be friends with.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to meet Anne Elliot. I'd like to know her secrets for staying calm and self-assured in the face of everyone around her that puts her down and constantly overlooks her. She seems to know who she is and doesn't stray from that.
ReplyDeleteI would want to meet Lizzy Bennet. She seems sharp and I think we'd get along well. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'd want to meet Mr Bennet because he seems like an extremely laid back person and I just think it would be nice to just hang out together
ReplyDeleteI'd like to meet Anne Elliot and wonder what in the world she was truly thinking when she saw Wentworth again for the first time. Have a chat about lost chances and how to get them back and how we grow in between those times.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I would want to meet Emma. She seems like she'd be fun-loving and spontaneous, two great qualities in a friend.

ReplyDeleteI think my favourite Austen character is Emma. She is so witty, outgoing, and intriguing. I want to read more Austen books soon. Maybe it will change with time, but only time can tell. Thanks for yet another giveaway. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI think Marianne Dashwood would be a treat to meet at a dinner party! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI want to meet Mr. Darcy or Emma! Both would be lovely!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun to meet Mr. Bennett and hear how it is living with all those daughters!

Sorry I posted in the wrong place! I would rather meet Jane herself...I cannot imagine that any other character would be more interesting than the woman who created them! I would love to give this to my daughter on her 16th birthday in Feb!! Annie Curtis
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to meet Anne Elliot because I think she'd be a great friend to have.

ReplyDeleteMr. Bennett must have great stories to tell about his girls!
ReplyDeleteSounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to meet Col. Fitzwilliam, being in his company might not be a tedious waste of an evening.
ReplyDeleteI would meet Elizabeth Bennet. She seems like the most modern character.
ReplyDeleteThis is always a hard question, I never can decide. But Elizabeth Bennet is a good candidate, though the answer may be boring. ;) She'd always have something interesting to say, probably wouldn't get in a snooty or disagreeable mood, and wouldn't be too shy. I like shy people, but you have to take more time with them and I probably wouldn't have that time. Heehee.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to meet Captain Wentworth. I think he is an interesting character and he doesn't get enough attention or face time, even within Persuasion!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it would be lovely to be friends with Marianne Dashwood.
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet Mr. Darcy. To see what a real man looked like :p
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have tea with Elinor and Marianne, but I'd love to be among their inner circle so that we could all speak candidly. Yes, we could all be polite, but I'd love some girl talk with them.
