COOTIE CATCHER BOOKS | Summer Edition

IT'S TIME.
I've been teasing this video for far too long now (which those of you who follow me on Instagram will know...). But after ages and AGES of planning and making charts and editing and agonizing over something as silly as background music, I am FINALLY ready to play a little game with you.

Some of you may remember making "Cootie Catchers," or paper fortune tellers, when you were a kid. (If not, google it. Super fun!) I decided to take that idea, but rather than giving you a fortune, the Cootie Catcher will tell you which book you NEED to read before summer's up! (Or winter, if it's cold where you live (soz!), or you're watching this hella late.)

That's right, we're taking it back old skool (I will never write that again, I promise), so if you're up for some fun and a random read, play along!

How it works:
1) You start HERE. The video will guide you to choose a number, and you'll click on the annotation of the number you chose (If you missed the boat, they're listed after these rules.)
2) When you click on your number, it will take you to a new, hidden video that will guide you through the next stage of the game, and from there, we'll find out what book the Cootie Catcher thinks you should read!
3) If at any point you regret a decision you made, don't worry! The Cootie Catcher was feeling beneficent (this time), and will allow you to start over!
4) Come back here and chat with me about what you thought of the game! I'd love to hear your thoughts, or know if there's a specific genre you'd like to see for the next round of Cootie Catcher Books!
But please, try to avoid spoilers with the books in the comments on this video! =D

If you missed it, this round you must choose between:
ONE | THREE | FIVE | EIGHT

    1. Yay! Make sure you let me know what you think if you do, so I can pass it along to the Cootie Catcher.
Job performance review, and all that. ;P

  2. I got Jellicoe Road, and got really excited, because I actually have it. So it is now part of my August TBR. Whoo. This was an awesome idea by the way.

  3. What fun! The book I got has been on my TBR for quite awhile so it's about time to read it. Lucky me the library has it availabe as a downloadable audiobook and ebook. I checked out both so that I can listen while I read.

  4. Thanks- that was fun! I apparently need to read mermaids (I just finished Deep Blue, so that's fitting) and Jellicoe Road (on my wishlist!). Great selections!

  5. The Cootie Catcher selected Libba Bray's Beauty Queens for me and I finished it yesterday. Funny and sarcastic....a fun read. I listened to the audiobook (narrated by the author) while reading along with the print copy. Libba Bray is an amazing audiobook narrator.

    1. Yay! I'm glad that you actually read what your Cootie Catcher fate told you to, and that you liked it. =)
Also, I definitely need to start working in more audiobooks.
