Happy (belated) birthday!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the keep going, 100%. More often than not, with costuming, I've stopped a project because it looked SO BAD and then all my costumer friends pushed me to keep going and suddenly it came together and was....well, at least less bad. :)
Your lotus is awesome- well done! I see you're on a very Springy floral theme these days. I think the birch trees is my fav...
Was that bee venom face mask from your Korean Beauty package? Thanks for Googling that- yay bees.
Bookish things! I love book-based humor, in terms of things for the wall (like "Espresso Patronum" in the kitchen). Also book-inspired art (like seeing people's interpretations of a character, scene, etc.) paired with quotes. Quotes by themselves are rarely awesome enough that I connect with them, so I like the art part framing them. Oh, and art over a book page- me gusta! And then, of course, bookish shirts, functional decor (like pillows, scarves, etc.), animal things (pet clothing, beds, toys, etc), and awesome book ends.
And how on earth did you get such clean lines and awesome cursive on the chalkboard mug? Did you use a chalk pen, or what? Because if you did that with just a plain slub of chalk, you need to teach lessons.
It was just plain chalk, and it suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. The chalk was just...chalky? That sounds stupid, but the chalk it came with was crap and didn't want to really go onto the mug, so I had to go over it and over it. (And then try not to wipe it off with my fingers when I turned it. And then do exactly that, and go over it again...) Chalkboard markers will definitely be coming my way soon... lol!
DeleteThe bee mask was actually from TJ Maxx! My local store recently upped their game, totally redesigned, and have an awesome beauty section now, and I happened to find it there. I thought maybe it was Korean when I picked it up, but it's actually from New Zealand. But I have seen plenty of bee venom-y things on memebox, which is the place I got my Kbeauty box from.
YES, so in a floral mood! =D
