Galavant: a fairy tale musical comedy of the absurd

So, this is a thing.
It's debatable whether this will make it to a second season, from what I'm seeing, and I have to admit, though it's been in my watch list (and was actually highly anticipated on my end, when I first heard about it), I still haven't managed to make it past this first episode.  Partly this is because I spend far too much time watching tv as is (and binge REwatching old favorites, tbh), and partly I think it's because I don't want to get addicted to another oddball show, just to see it cancelled. But it seems like the type of fun blend of quotable, quirky and irreverent that is pretty sure to win me over, and I kinda just want to take the plunge and make it my current binge show.
Check out the first episode below* and let me know your thoughts in the comments (especially if you already are a fan of the show!).

(And yes, that is Lee Jordan / Magnitude. Pick your fandom.)

*I'm sure ABC hasn't made this available via Hulu to all countries, so apologies if you're unable to watch it. Maybe try ABC.com directly?

  1. Aw, all that played was the first 60 seconds or so. But this one has been on my list as well (given it's a musical renaissance faire with humor...which is everything I need in a show). Is it the kind of show with a continuous plot line that needs a season two? It seemed by description that all the episodes were stand-alone, but with the common thread of "hero vs. evil king" (rather like BBC's Robin Hood). Hmm....I'll have to get on Hulu for it. Thanks!
