  1. Okay, need to get on the stick. I've got Tin Star and Seraphina on the shelf and they need to get read.

I love, love, love your backlist highlight idea. I am one who misses a lot as there is always so much releasing at once. I can't tell you how many times I've 'discovered' a cool book years after everyone else that was talked up I'm sure, but I somehow missed it.

My backlist ones will tend more toward sci-fi, dystop, or urban fantasy, I think. Lia Habel's steampunk zombie series that never got finished was a favorite, Diana Peterfreund's For Darkness Shows the Stars duo, Robin LaFevers' My Fair Assassin series (you got this back on my radar the other day), Beth Revis' Across the Universe trilogy, Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles (these are still sort of in the limelight b/c of the spin-off graphic novels), Mike Mullins' Ashfall series, Leah Rae Miller's Became a Nerd series(oh hey, a contemporary), David Estes' The Moon Dwellers series (and the other series, too), The Wilds series by Donna Augustine, Isaac Marion's Warm Bodies series, Elizabeth Wein's Code Name Verity series, Dan Wells' Fractured series. Okay, I'll stop there. :)
