THE POEM:

The November Girl

The splendor falls,
strands of bronze and gold,
brightly woven amid stars and darkness.

Dark wood, uprooted,
lies beneath frost.

The last harvest,
tender morsels,

lost.

After the woods,
darkness falls;
the dead and the buried:
secrets in snow.
