Also, I somehow forgot to mention a very important part of all of this (to me, anyway). Some of you may recall the greeting card/bookmark combos I did over the winter to raise money for local charities. That's something that's important to me in this venture; I may not have a ton of money, but I've always felt like, you give back in the ways you can, and this is one way I can. So I want to partner my shop with charities (a new one each launch? each quarter? TBD!), and am very open to suggestions of charitable organizations you think are worthy and doing the work. Especially smaller and/or local organizations that may often get overlooked. So please send suggestions my way!
so, that was goose-bump inducing good news! I love that you're turning your gift into a business. I've had it in mind before when I've seen your printables for the #30-Day or some of your Austen in August water colors and quotes that you could sell them.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your video of processing this big life change and earliest collections. Woohoo for launch day when it comes!
Throwing more excitement for your plans in here!
ReplyDeleteAs for partnering with a charity, may I suggest YouthCare: https://youthcare.org/ ?
They're a fantastic group dedicated to supporting homeless youth (most of whom are LGBTQIA+ that have been kicked out of their homes) through things like job training, safe shelters, outreach programs, etc. I vetted them for a corporate charity program (that sadly fell through, due entirely to my company's idiocy) and I was really impressed with their integrity.
Congratulations! What an amazing experience. Good luck with everything. I look forward to hearing more!
